Meet our newsletter editor
If you have enjoyed receiving our weekly e-newsletter, you might like to meet the editor, Raja Abdul Razak. Hailing from Ipoh and Teluk Intan, he has lived in Penang since the late 80s but has never been able to cut ties with his hometowns and is still a Perakian at heart. He joined Areca Books as a guest editor in April 2013. His first major assignment was to help produce Rumah. Working on that book stoked memories of his own past, which he then expressed in a two-part essay A Tale of Two Heritage Homes. Since then, his involvement at Areca Books has expanded into other areas such as, but not limited to, production of the weekly newsletter, updating the bookstore’s website and other miscellaneous tasks which involve technical know-how. He enjoys his work as much his leisure hours, which are taken up mainly by a penchant for music and reading.
