Tenas Effendy’s paean to the Malay house is more than a poem; like the gracious houses which the poet celebrates, it encapsulates the very essence and traditional wisdom of an entire way of life. This lively translation by Raimy Ché-Ross makes the work accessible to new audiences. Furnished with gorgeous illustrations by Ahmad Harun, the book is sure to delight lovers of poetry, architecture, and Malay culture alike.
