Structured as a profound and intimate epistolary message, this lyrical narrative unfolds as a letter written by a young man named Little Dog to his illiterate mother. Tracing a multi-generational family arc originating from the deep scars of the Vietnam War to an immigrant existence in America, the text uncovers buried histories, vulnerabilities, and the complex dynamics of a mother-son bond. Through raw and poetic prose, it examines themes of race, class, identity, and the painful pursuit of self-discovery amidst a backdrop of trauma and survival.
