History of Nallur Muslims II is a Tamil-language book about the Muslims of Kadayanallur. They were basically a community of handloom weavers. Hence weaving was their main occupation. But the overall lifestyle of the community and their main occupation are undergoing great changes. Back in the day, their society activities included night weddings, marriage banquets, marriage processions, wedding feasts, association activities, dargah ganduris and cinemas.

While the old guard laments the the loss of traditional values, the younger generation remain completely ignorant of the previous generation’s business, tribulations, troubles and sorrows.

It is hoped that this book will, if not reverse the situation, at least help the younger generation learn about their roots. An ignorant society cannot make history, the elders claim.

It is the author’s hope that this book will, perhaps, help the reader to recognize who the Nallur Muslims were.
