Since Areca Books was founded in 2005, we have published about 30 titles (including a few republished titles). The following books are listed in chronological order.

Areca Books has also republished two titles by Khoo Salma Nasution, namely, The Streets of George Town Penang, (first published in 1993) which has sold more than 20,000 copies and Penang Postcard Collection (first published in 2003), a perennial favourite. We are proud to announce that The Chulia in Penang was shortlisted for the ICAS Book Prize, Best Study in the Humanities and won the ICAS Colleagues’ Choice Award in 2015. Areca Books is the first Malaysian publisher to have won this prestigious award organised by the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS).

Beyond The Sea has been recognised with Tamil Literary Garden’s Translation Award. This award was announced on 19 April 2019.

A total of 11 books have been listed by the National Book Council as 50 Best Titles* for International Rights in 2011 and 2013.
