Sejarah Melayu (The Malay Annals) had shown that during the Melaka Malay Kingdom (1262-1511) there were many female figures that helped to stabilize the politics and administration of Melaka. Besides that there were also others who became the factor in bringing together diplomatic relationships between Melaka and other Countries. Among them were Puteri Ratna Kemula, princess of Pasai King (Perlak) who married Seri Sultan Iskandar Syah, 1st Sultan of Melaka; Tun Kudu who wed Sultan Muzaffar Syah, 5th Sultan of Melaka; Radin Galoh Chandra Kirana, princess of Majapahit King and Puteri Hang Li Poh, princess of Emperor of China who married Sultan Mansur Syah, 6th Sultan of Melaka; Tun Fatimah princess of Bendahara Seri Maharaja Tun Mutahir, Tun Teja princess of Bendahara Pahang and Puteri Onang Kinang princess of Sultan of Kelantan were married to Sultan Mahmud Syah, 8th Sultan of Melaka and many other examples. This article will explain Tun Kudu’s role in stabilising the politic and because of this success, she was known as “Melaka Heroic Queen”.
