Introduction
2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Nature Classroom. Our environmental education began by creating awareness towards the conservation of mangroves and seagrass beds. Gradually, it expands to other ecosystems and environmental topics such as freshwater wetlands, tropical rainforests, urban green spaces, and many more. But no matter where we go, we always hold the beauty and vibrant intertidal habitat close to our heart.
Over the years, we have exposed people to the beauty of seashore nature around us through a series of indoor and outdoor experiential activities. These include our early-day projects – Mangroves and I Love Sea Turtles, followed by Seagrass Bed and Hi, Seletar. Recently, we have also initiated the Be Friends with Mud programme. These projects have not only created many beautiful memories for children of all ages, but also allowed their bodies and minds be healed and nourished. This beautiful and magical intertidal habitat reaches us to respect, love and live life with compassion!
In every visitation and learning journey, we are thrilled to see people expanding their horizons and growing into a better version of themselves. This book of the coastal marine creatures is a collection and essence of our long-term researches and experiences. We would like to share this priceless gift about the secret of nature that we had discovered thus far, and humbly invite you on this remarkable journey, continue to love and appreciate the beauty of our nature.
