Mission Sabah

The fictional story unfolds in the East Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo with the sneaked-in arrival there of a much-feared foreign jihadist terrorist intent on creating a chain of sleeper and terror cells. When confronted with the news several months later, the country’s alarmed Ministry of Defense (Mindef) quickly springs into action. It rushes to bolster the State’s defense on its particularly vulnerable eastern coastline. Simultaneously, it picks for the manhunt of the adversary an elite seven-member commando force led by the country’s top counter-terrorism agent, ASP Zainal Abidin (“Zain”). After the breakout success of his first book “Stalking Crime”, which introduced the super sleuth Zain to the literary world, author Kumar Das returns with an even more challenging assignment for Zain that pits him against a vicious and cunning mastermind of terror. It is a potent read of a realistic fiction novel that will leave readers spellbound with the narrative as much as with the graphic descriptions of the State’s unique natural wonders, its peoples, and facets of its history.
