This book is about a pioneering Malaysian lady who was solely responsible for the introduction of a programme culminating in the integration of the blind in sighted schools throughout our country. It is a moving story of a person who has lived her life in the service of others. The daughter of a soft-spoken successful businessman and an active and caring social activist, it was probably from her mother that Anne inherited the genes to care so deeply for the less fortunate in society. A former student of the Bukit Nanas Convent and the London School of Economics, she joined the Department of Social Welfare, devoting her life to developing blind children. The department quickly saw her potential, and appointed her as first principal of the Princess Elizabeth School (PES) for the Blind in ]ohor Bahru. And it was there that she found her path and purpose in life.
